Caribbean Lifestyles: My Mexico Adventure Part 1!

Okay so since the internet in Mejico was m.........i.........n.........d..............n              u                m             b   ingly...................... SLOW, I've decided to recap my 2 week adventure in post-occurrence blogs, from the comfort of my own home. Praise high-speed internet.

There's so much to talk about, that I don't really know where to start. Plus, I have like, 3000 photos to go through, so I decided to break it off into sections as best I can.

First, why don't a start with a little resort introduction.

We were staying at the Viva Wyndha Maya, in Playa Del Carmen, in the Mayan Riviera - the Caribbean side of Mexico. The resort was about a 3-4 star, so not overly luxury as far as fancy-dancy rooms, but the beach was mind blowing and the cheaper rate allowed for us to stay for two weeks - which gave us more time for excursions AND resting, which was ideal.

The resort was pretty much a few hotel rooms amidst a tropical jungle, with hammocks and, strange animals and twisty walkways. It was gorgeous. This was the lobby, which I thought was great. Sort of the modern patio furniture thrown in with the trees.

So, meet the Mexican Agoutis. Safely the strangest rodent I have ever seen. Much like a guinea pig with longer legs, it wanders around the jungle rather aimlessly and eats like a rabbit. So weird it might be considered cute. Maybe.

There were 3 a la carte restaurants. You had to reserve in advance to get in, but it was worth it because the food was great and you got treated like royalty. 4 courses, and any drinks you wanted all completely free! Okay, not free, but included in the all inclusive thing, so it felt free. The first one we went to was the Mexican one. Service was always great, and of course, I had to take pictures to document everything.

This thing is getting kind of long, and I'm starting to get a little distracted (plastic bag, plastic bag, plastic bag) so I'll conclude for now. I promise the next ones will be more interesting, but I had to get some of the basic introductions out of the way.
Coming up in future posts, the Island of Cozumel, The outstandingly gorgeous Xel Ha, Swimming with the Dolphins, the Mayan Ruins of Coba, a Mayan Village, the Viva nightly shows, and Playa del Carmen!

Ciao for now,
Meena
