The Closest Thing to Paradise

So life pretty much rules right now. And this is why.

I´ve never been to an all inclusive before so this is a new thing for me. Food, drinks, shows, hammocks, dancing, beaches, pools, water arobics, anything you can think of - they have it.
A few things I plan on trying to get to before the next 10 days are up: Parasailing, swimming with the dolphines, visiting the mayan ruins, renting a seadoo, getting some professional photos done on the beach, and of course - more shopping!

I made the decision not to bring my laptop which was probably a good one, considering they charge 25 dollars per kg, if you go over 20 kilos. Lame. So, picture loading is going to limited, as will my internet visits.

And yet, my days are busier than you might imagine. Due to the limitations already mentioned, I´ll try to keep it brief and specific.

The resort is beatiful. It´s a tropical paradise. The lobby is open air with palm trees and classy patio furniture. There´s a buffet you can eat at anytime and 3 gorgeous restaurants you can reseave at, (all included!)
There are funny little animal things that wonder around the jungle filled grounds, that look something like a mixture between a cat, a wombat and a prairie dog.  They stay amongst the trees, so it´s not a bother or anything, its actually nice - makes the place feel more like a natural tropical environment, but they are definately puzzlers. I havent gotten a picture yet, so some are on the way.

(one of the many music and stage shows put on everynight by the bar and beach at the resort! This one was snipets of Disney movies - so great!)
The most interesting thing I´ve done so far, is taken the ferry over to the island of Cozumel. Cozumel is amazing. It was a total culture rush. A slightly run down little town, with shops and venders all over the streets. Really beautiful old city. But the best part? We rented SCOOTERS. Big(ish) ones, that go up to 70k per hour.

Not gonne lie, I didn´t think I´d be scared at all, but for some reason I was. I got onto the confusing streets with this unfamiliar motor between my legs in a place where no one speaks english and apparantly you can go through red lights. Of  course I got frazzled and had people yelling at me in foreign languages.

But after than tramatic event, I got used to the thing. (Actually, Butch, of Butch a Gina, a couple we met at the resort, had to come over and drive me out of the intersection, until I got a chance to get used to driving the thing. haha I was semi-pathetic.) But once I did get comfortable it was AMAZING. I felt like I was in an old movie, driving through this amazingly cultural city, seeing things I´ve always dreamed of seeing. It must have been at least 32 degrees, which hit us like a ton of bricks anytime we stopped driving and we werent in the wind anymore. Unfortunately I couldn´t take many pictures because I was driving across the island the whole time, so mom and I plan to go back to explore it on foot. I could go on alot longer about the experience but I´m running out of time so moving on.

Today, we went to Xel-Han. A natural adventure tour, in tropical jungle were you can snorkle the reefs (WHICH WAS SO AWESOME) swim with dolphins, tour the jungle and a whole bunch of great stuff. We didn´t do the dolphin thing, because we are doing that on a different day, but we did go snorkling and I took an underwater camera and took pictures of all the rainbow fishiiieeesss!!! Coolest thing ever, serisouly. I can´t wait to get the film developed.

The place is astounding. Every where you look it looks like a postcard. It is literally paradise. I would go back in a heart beat. Oh, and SO HOT.

We also went shopping in Playa Del Carmen the other night. We didn´t actually do much shopping, mostly just looked around because it was later in the evening when we came back from Cozumel, and we were a bit pooped i think. So we walked around and Ill tell you - the place is fabulous. Absolutely teaming with life. Music, and lights, and little shops with vendors saying "come in! you like! you buy! 5 dollars! I give you deal!" They are pretty pushy, but it´s all part of the experience. It´s serisouly everything north american cities are missing - it´s lively, engaging, cultural, beautiful and inspring. Our baby country just has nothing up against these old cities overflowing with history.

Well, looks like im getting down to my final minutes here, so I´ll leave you with that update for now. There´s so much more to talk about - if only I had the time or the energy!

I´ll try to update again soon!

Ciao my dahlings!

Leaving on a Jet Plane

Sorry for the unoriginal title. But I've spent the last 3 hours figuring out what to bring and what not to, because I don't want to go over my weight limit....Mom and I are both wandering around in our pjs with frazzled hair, weighing earrings and shoes on a bathroom scale.
I have decided to try to bring my laptop, even though it and its charger is like, 6 pounds. But I don't really know what I'd do without it...no blogging?? I mean really, that's a lot to ask.

Viva Wyndham Maya. Be there in less the 24 hours bitches.
BOOYA BABY.
