Almost There.

Been chipping away at these slowly. I'm almost done....out of 1200 photos I think I probably only have about 30 left to edit....I know it's down to 2 more sets anyway, I think....the one I did here on the bridge, and then the ones on the train.....

OH SNAP. I just realized it's actually 3 sets. We also did some on a boat (abandoned and random in the middle of a parking lot), which apparantly was not a great idea because the boys were covered in fiber glass afterwards....anyway, those shouldn't take too long, because I think even after the effort of climbing up, I didn't get too many shots out of it.

I can't wait to finish up. There are so many great shots to add to my portfolio now :)

My Camosun = 750 BONES

The My Camosun Contest is a one minute video that is supposed to depict was Camosun College means to you. I was inspired when I heard the the song "One Tribe" by Black Eyed Peas, and instantly knew what I wanted to do. I was pretty excited because it was simple, effective, and really easy to shoot.

Anyway, I guess it paid off because I WON FIRST PRIZE!!!

aka, 750 big ones! I can't believe it! I should buy myself something as a treat...but what to buy...? Hmm.

Anywho, next project is to...well okay let's be honest, there's more than one project on the go. Here's the major ones:
  • Take 5 Newsletter (an Applied Communication Publication): Christi and I are doing layout and photography. We're going with a Web 2.0 theme. :)
  • Photography Photoshop Assignment: A shot of someone in a scene or pose that clearly depicts their job, then edit it (levels, layers, touchups, etc)
  • Publishing Photoshop Assignment: Combine some of your own photos, or creative commons photos from the web, to create a whole new scene. For this I think I am going to use some of the photos from the Sunhawk Band shoot. I did a lot of editing and subbing in certain shots, because sometimes I liked one of the guy's expressions in one shot, but like the expression of the other two guys in another...anyway, the only reason why I'm a little skeptical is quite often I only combined 2 photos, actually I think I only ever combined 2 photos, and although they are very well edited, I feel like it's a bit of a cop out, considering everyone else is doing something really obvious....anyway, whatever, I'll figure it out.
  • Sunhawk: Finish editing the photos
Okay, it's almost time for work now, so I'm going to DRIVE down. woop woop.

Till next time Kidlies <3

A Day in the G-Hood

Went out driving today to get photos done for my photography assignment. Kinda nice, I ended up in Gorden Head where I grew up...so nice to be in the area again. :) And driving which made it feel like even MORE time had passed....haha I'm old and grown up now.

ANYWAY, here's some of the shots. It was kinda nice to have to opportunity to take more landscape shots since I never do. I'm more of a people person when it comes to photography, and I don't spend a lot of time working of photos that I can actually put up on my wall, for instance.

Assignment 1: One Third

Assignment 2 : Two Thirds

Web Update plus Random Cat Gum

Website's slowly coming along. Putting content on takes the most amount of time....bah.

Okay, let me just point out the fact that I hate with a firey passion when the heel of my hand touches the laptop mouse pad and moves where I am typing so I start typing randomnly at the beginning again. FML.

ANYWAY.

My cat is a freak. She's rubbing herself all over my purse and drooling on it, because I have mint gum in there somewhere, and she loves chewing on it. quite literally. If I don't stop her she'll probably rip through my bag with her teeth.

Driving Tests and News Shifts

So, I took my LAST driving lesson today. Actually, I kind of forgot about it, until the doorbell rang and this cute guy showed up at my door. It took only a few seconds of me contemplating that maybe God was rewarding me by bringing cute guys to my doorstep, before I realized I happened to know this one, and he was supposed to be mock-testing me.
Needless to say, I finished getting reading and dashed out the house.

Apparently I don't look behind me enough when I'm parking or maneuvering the car, because it was that that cost me the points to not pass my mock exam. But Brett (driving-guy) has faith that I will pass my actual test on Monday, and says that a number of his students that he passes in the mock exam, actually fail their real road test, and the ones he fails, know to pay more attention, and pass their road test.

God, I hope that's me.

Currently, I'm actually on air on Village 900 doing my 12-5 news shift. Every hour on the hour I do a 3 minute news read, then a 1 minute sports and weather.
The weirdest part - I'm actually liking it. Strange - considering i used to hate news. Hmmm. Acp is converting me.

I'll be posting soon with screenshots of my website that seems to be coming along quite well. Basically it's just a matter of buckling down and getting content in now, which is a biatch, because it takes about a million years.

Oh yeah, and then I have to figure out how to transfer it to my .com domain through FTP. we'll see....

Ciao for now Bellas!

Facebook Annihilation

Okay, so here goes. My first blog. Well, maybe not my first, since I was once an avid LJ user, during those days long before Facebook "pwnd" Live Journal. I remember very distinctly the day my friend posted the picture of Justin Timberlake's Futuresex/Lovesounds album and said that this is what facebook was doing to livejournal. He was right.

So, anyway, Blogger it is. I feel like after every speaker that we've had come into our classes who said that having presence on the web is now one of the most important factors of networking into the media industry, I can't very well ignore it any longer.

I don't know how easily I'll be able to keep up with it, but I'll give it my best go.
